How to uninstall program with corrupted installation files


When you are working on your computer and removing some rarely used program using Add/Remove Programs utility from Control Panel, you are told that some programs can't be uninstalled because the installation files are corrupted or lost.

Most of these kind of programs were installed by using Windows Installer. And you can fix the problem by cleanup the installation files installed by Windows Installer. Microsoft provides a utility named Windows Installer CleanUp, with it you can remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. However Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will only remove the installation information your computer instead of the actual program. So after cleaning up the installation files, you need to manually delete the program file.

follow this steps to remove the corrupted installations files,.

  1. Download the Windows Installer CleanUp.
  2. Run and follow the on screen instruction to install it.
  3. Run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.
  4. Carefully select the program you want to remove.
  5. Click on the button Remove to remove the installation information of the selected program.
  6. Manually find and delete the installed program files and program menus, shortcut from your computer.
  7. Done.

Now open Add/Remove Programs utility from Control Panel, you will find these programs that failed to be uninsatlled are gone.
