About SCBar
SCBar is toolbar and a search- and error-hijacker implemented as IE toolbar. It may display popup ads that are targeted based on keywords found in the web page you are browsing, and is likely to slow performance of Internet Explorer.
Scbar's code is a descendant of the NetworkEssentials parasite.

How to Remove SCBar?
Click Start > Settings > Add/Remove Programs > Control Panel, select the entry 'WebEnh' and click 'Remove' to uninstall it. If you can't find the entry, you need to use the following steps to remove it manually:
- Open a DOS command prompt window (from Start->Programs->Accessories), and enter the following commands.
For SCBar/SearchEnhancement:
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u "\Program Files\scbar\v1\scbar.dll"
Or, for SCBar/WindowEnhancer:
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u "\Program Files\winex\v2\winex.dll"
- Open the registry editor (click Start > Run, enter 'regedit') and find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Delete the 'SearchEnhancement' entry on the right pointing to scbar.exe, or 'WindowEnhancer' pointing to winex.exe.
- Restart the computer.
- Delete the 'scbar' or 'winex' folder inside Program Files.
