About CrackedEarth

CrackedEarth is a hijacker that change your home page to other sites and reroute your info and address requests through an unseen site. It isimplemented as an Internet Explorer search hook class and a process run at startup.

How to Remove CrackedEarth ? 

To remove CrackedEarth manually:

1. Open a DOS command prompt window (Start->Run, enter 'cmd' (for windows 2000/NT/XP) or 'Command'( for windows 98) ->Accessories), and enter the following command line:
   
   cd "%WinDir%\System"
   regsvr32 "\CrackedEarth\searchhook.dll"
   Note: The %WinDir% is a variable, you should replace it with windows directory on your system, by default it is c:\windows or c:\winnt.
   
2. Open the registry editor (Start->Run, endter 'regedit') and find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Delete the 'SearchHook' value inside this key.
   
3. Find and delete the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SearchHook to clean up.
   
4. Delete the CrackedEarth folder and reset your home page.
