SearchV is a homepage hijacker and adware. It sets your IE homepage to its controlling server( searchv.com) and generates popup ad windows while you are using IE. It is lLikely to slow performance of Internet Explorer.
How to Remove
SearchV?
Follow these instruction to remove SearchV from your computer:
- Close all Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer windows.
- Open the Registry Editor ( Click Start > Run, and type 'regedit').
- Locate the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
In the right pane, look for an entry called Start Page. Double click it.
In the Value Data box, if the URL is http://www.searchv.com/, that's your culprit. Change it to your desired start page.
- Use notepad to open the file hosts from the folder of c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc. Search for 209.66.114.130 and remove this line if found.
