About PurityScan

PurityScan is an adware. It scans your computer for pornographic files and generates number of targeted or untargeted pop-up ads when browsing Web sites. PurityScan has an automatic update feature and may install third party products.

How to Remove PurityScan ? 

PuriteScan provides an uninstaller on its web site, click the following link to download the uninstaller and follow the instructions to uninstall it.

If you want to manuallyremove it , follow these removal instructions:

1. Open the Registry Editor (Click Start > Run, type 'regedit' and click Ok).
2. Navigate to the following registry key:
   
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run
   
   In the right pane, delete the entry named ContentService.
   
3. Delete the following keys:
   
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\purityscan
   
4. Reboot the computer.
5. Search and delete the file winservn.exe from the System directory (by default the System directory is c:\windows\system for Windows 98 or c:\winnt\system32 for Windows 2000) .
6. Open the Program Files folder, find and delete the folder PurityScan and all the contents in it.
