is an adware implemented as
Internet Explorer Browser Helper Object ( BHO ). The program may open popup ads as directed by its controlling server(
hightrafficads.com
) when you are browsing. It is also likely to slow down the performance of Internet Explorer. This adware may be installed via
ActiveX drive-by download in pop-up advertisements.
How to Remove
HighTraffic
?
Follow these instructions if you want to manually remove this adware from your computer:
- Close all open Internet Explorer windows.
- Open a DOS command prompt window (from Start->Programs->Accessories) and enter the following commands :
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u BHO2.dll
regsvr32 /u MSNIE.dll
- Reboot the computer.
- Search and delete the BHO2.dll and MSNIE.dll files in the System folder. (The System folder can be found in the Windows folder; it is called 'System32' on Windows NT/2000/XP, and just 'System' on Windows 95/98/Me.)
