About Adware Windows TaskAd

Windows TaskAd is an adware and browser hijacker. This program resets your Internet Explorer settings (such as home page and search settings) and monitors your browsing habits and contacts its controlling servers to generate targeted popup advertisements. The program may also download arbitrary code and other adware to your computer.

How to Remove Windows TaskAd ?

Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.

Follow these removal steps to remove this spyware from your computer:

1. Close all open browser Windows.
   
2. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit', and click Ok to open the Registry eidtor.
   
3. Navigate to the following key:
   
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
   
   In the right pane find and delete the entry with the value 'Windows TaskAd' or 'AdStatus Service'.
   
4. You may also delete the following entries to clean up your registry.
   

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Windows TaskAd
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ AdStatus Service
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Preview AdService
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Windows TaskAd
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AdStatus Service
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\WinStatX.Installer
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\WinadX.Installer
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AdManCtlx.Installer
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{15AD4789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6}

5. Reboot the computer.
   
6. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double click Internet Options，select Programs tab, then click on Reset Web Settings button, click Ok on the opened dialog.
