About Adware WinTools

WinTools is an adware that adds a toolbar to your browser and interfere with your browsing by generating annoying popups and balloon dialogs. It is a variant of adware Huntbar.

How to Remove WinTools ?

Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.

Please follow these removal steps to remove this spyware from your computer:

1. Reboot your computer to Safe Mode. (Press F8 when Windows starts) .
2. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit', and click Ok to open the Registry editor.
3. Navigate to the following key:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
   In the right pane find and delete the entry named " wintools", if exists.
   
4. Repeat finding and deleting the entry "wintools" in the following registry keys:
   
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\runservices
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\runservicesonce
   
5. Exit Registry Editor.
6. Open a DOS command prompt window ( Start > Run , type 'cmd' (on Windows NT/2000/XP ) or 'command' (on Windows 95/98/Me)) and enter the following commands,
   
   cd "C:\Windows\program files\common files\wintools\"
   regsvr32 /u wtoolsb.dll
   
7. Delete the folder "wintools" from directory "C:\Windows\program files\common files".
8. Reboot the computer.
