WinAD is a spyware and adware that hijacks your IE and contacts to its controlling server to display popup ads. The program starts when you start Windows.

?
Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.
Follow these removal steps to remove this adware from your computer:
- Reboot the computer to Safe Mode (Press F8 when Windows start)
- Open a Dos command prompt (from Start > Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt). Enter the following commands:
For Windows 98/Me,
cd %WinDir%\System\
regsvr32 /u winad.dll
regsvr32 /u winad2.dll
del winad.dll
del winad2.dll
Or for Windows 2000/XP,
cd %WinDir%\System32\
regsvr32 /u winad.dll
regsvr32 /u winad2.dll
del winad.dll
del winad2.dll
- Click Start > Run, type 'regedit', and click Ok to open the Registry eidtor.
- Navigate to and delete the following registry keys:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\{53d3c442-8fee-4784-9a21-6297d39613f0}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\classes\clsid\{53d3c442-8fee-4784-9a21-6297d39613f0}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\browser helper objects\{53d3c442-8fee-4784-9a21-6297d39613f0}
- Exit Registry Editor.
- Search for and delete the following files ( normally they are in Windows or System directory):
winad.exe,
wnad.exe,
wnad.dat,
wnad-update.exe
- Open the temporary file folder (Go to Start > Run, type %temp% and press Enter.) , search and delete the following files:
2.39 mb.exe
578 kb.exe
gd255.exe
- Reboot the computer.
