FastSearch.cc or WebCounter.cc is a browser hijacker that keeps changing your Internet Explorer brower home page and search assistance settings to point to the url in.webcounter.cc, then redirects to globe-finder.cc, myfastsearch.net or FastSearch.cc.

How to Remove Webcounter.cc ?

Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.

Follow these removal steps to remove this spyware from your computer:

1. Reboot your computer to safe mode (press F8 when Windows start).
2. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit', and click Ok to open the Registry eidtor.
   
3. Navigate to the following key:
   HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
   In the right pane find and delete the entry with the value 'soundmx.exe'.
4. Navigate to the following key:
   HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Styles
   In the right pane,
   Delete "User Stylesheet".
   Change "Use My Stylesheet" to 0.
   
5. Exit Registry Editor.
   
6. Search for and delete the following file from System directory (such as C:\WINNT\System32):
   
   soundmx.exe
   
7. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options, select the Programs tab and then click on the "Reset Web Settings" to reset your Internet Explorer settings.
8. Reboot your computer.
