About Adware WebDir

WebDir is a browser hijacker that is implemented as IE Browser Helper Object. This program changes specific links on the page being viewed by adding affiliate id to the link so that when the user clicks on the link to buy some products the producers of WebDir will get the commissions.

How to Remove WebDir ?

Follow these removal steps to remove this hijacker from your computer:

1. Reboot the computer to safe mode (Press F8 key when windows start.).
   
2. Open a DOS command prompt window ( Start > Run , type 'cmd' (on Windows NT/2000/XP ) or 'command' (on Windows 95/98/Me)) and enter the following commands,
   
   cd %windir%
   regsvr32 /u webdir.dll
   
3. Reboot your computer.
4. Delete the file webdir.dll from %Windir% directory (Note: %WinDir% is a variable, by deffault this is "C:\Winnt" or "C:\Windows") .
