About Adware WebBuy

WebBuy is an adware implemented as IE browser helper object. It displays advertisements when you are surfing using Internet Explorer. This adware uses randomly named files to prevent it from being easily found and deleted.

How to Remove WebBuy ?

Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.

Follow these removal steps to manually remove this adware from your computer:

  1. Reboot the computer to safe mode (click F8 when Windows start).
  2. Go to "Program Files" folder, find and delete the folder of "Web Buying" and all the contents in it.
  3. Go to Start > Run, type 'regedit' and click OK to open Registry Editor.
  4. Navigate to and delete the following key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WebBuying

  5. Exit Registry Editor.
  6. Open Hijackthis ( if you don't have one you can download it here and unzip it to a permanent folder) and do a scan.
  7. From the entries labeled O2, find the item that points to random named dll files which resides in System or System32 folder. Place a check on the right of the item.
  8. Click Fix Checked button.
  9. Reboot the computer.
