About Adware TargetAD

TargetAD is an adware implemented as Internet Explorer Browser Helper Object. It displays pop-up advertisements when you are browsing the Internet. This adware may be installed without user notice.

How to Remove TargetAD ?

Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.

Follow these removal steps to manually remove this spyware:

  1. Reboot your computer to safe mode.
  2. Open a DOS command prompt window ( Start > Run , type 'cmd' (on Windows NT/2000/XP ) or 'command' (on Windows 95/98/Me)) and enter the following commands,

    cd %programfiles%\netmeting\target
    regsvr32 /u target.dll

  3. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit' to open the Registry Editor.
  4. Navigate to and delete the following registry keys:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TargetAD
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\{002AF282-E42D-4B51-9F70-F1570C02FAAD}
  5. Open "Program Files" folder. Find and delete the folder netmeting and all the contents within it.
  6. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options, select the Programs tab and then click on the "Reset Web Settings" to reset your Internet Explorer settings.
  7. Reboot the computer.
