About Adware StatBlaster

StatBlaster is an adware component, and may be used in partnership with other adware packages. StatBlaster may be stealthly installed by some third party adware and install other adware as well. At the time of writing this article, the statblaster service have been discontinued.

How to Remove StatBlaster ?

Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.

Follow these removal steps to remove this spyware from your computer:

1. Reboot the computer to Safe Mode (Press F8 when Windows start)
2. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit' to open the Registry Editor.
3. Navigate to the following registry key:
   
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run
   
   In the right pane, delete the value named 'Me' and 'updatestats', if it exists.
   
4. Exit Registry Editor.
5. Open a Dos command prompt window (from Start > Programs > Accessories ), enter the following commands:
   
   regsvr32 /u c:\program\media\media\statblaster.dll
   regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\media\media\statblaster.dll"
   regsvr32 /u %temp%\me.dll
   
6. Reboot the computer.
7. Delete the folder 'C:\program\media\' and 'C:\program files\media' and all the contents in them.
