About Adware SpywareStrike

SpywareStrike is a rogue anti-spyware tool. This program seems to be a variant of spyware SpyAxe. It is downloaded and installed by some malware without user notice. It displays advertisements misleading you to believe that your computer is infected with some spyware and entice you to register their products.

How to Remove SpywareStrike ?

Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.

Follow these removal steps to manually remove this adware from your computer:

1. Reboot your computer to Safe mode (press F8 key before Windows starts up) .
2. Open a DOS command prompt window ( Start > Run , type 'cmd' (on Windows NT/2000/XP ) or 'command' (on Windows 95/98/Me)) and enter the following commands,
   

   cd %WinDir%\System32
   regsvr32 /u netwrap.dll
   attrib -h -r netwrap.dll
   attrib -h -r hp*.tmp
   del netwrap.dll
   del hp*.tmp

3. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit' to open the Registry Editor.
   
4. Navigate to the following key:

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

   In the right pane find and delete the entry named "SpywareStrike"

5. Navigate to and delete the following registry key:

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\ {27150F81-0877-42E9-AF13-55E5A3439A26}

6. Exit Registry Editor.
   
7. Delete the folder C:\Program Files\SpywareStrike and all the contents within it.
   
8. Search for and delete the following files:
   
   mssearchnet.exe, nvctrl.exe
   
9. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options, select the Programs tab and then click on the "Reset Web Settings" to reset your Internet Explorer settings.
10. Reboot the computer.
