Searchscout is an adware implemented as IE Toolbarby GAIN Publishing, which is also the vendor of the widely spreaded adware named Gator. The program will display advertisement on your computer.

How to Remove SearchScout ?

To uninstall the program,

1. go to Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2. When the Control Panel window opens, double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon.
3. Scroll down the program list and locate 'Searchscout Toolbar'.
4. Click on it and then click on the Add/Remove button. Follow the on screen instructions to uninstal it.

Follow these removal steps to remove this adware from your computer:

1. Reboot the computer to Safe Mode (Press F8 when Windows start)
2. Open a Dos command prompt (from Start > Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt). Enter the following commands:
   
   For Windows 98/Me,
   cd %WinDir%\System\
   regsvr32 /u searchscouttoolbar.dll
   del searchscouttoolbar.dll
   
   Or for Windows 2000/XP,
   cd %WinDir%\System32\
   regsvr32 /u searchscouttoolbar.dll
   del searchscouttoolbar.dll
   
3. Reboot the computer.
