About Adware SearchExe

SearchExe is an adware that is composed of two components: one is an Internet Explorer Browser Helper Object used to redirect browser requests, the other is a stand-alone process that starts at system startup. The adware may display advertisements on your computer.

How to Remove SearchExe ?

Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.

Follow these steps to manually remove this adware from your computer:

1. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit', and click Ok to open the Registry eidtor.
   
2. Navigate to the following key:
   "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run".
   
   In the right pane find and delete the entry with the value 'search-exe' , which points to the file "C:\Program Filesse\v11\se.exe" or some thing similiar.
   
3. Open a DOS command prompt window ( Start > Run , type 'cmd' (on Windows NT/2000/XP ) or 'command' (on Windows 95/98/Me)) and enter the following commands,

   For Windows 95/98/Me:
   cd "C:\Program Files\se\v11\"
   regsvr32.exe" /u se.dll

4. Reboot the computer.

5. Delete the folder "C:\Program Files\se" and all the content within the folder.
