About Spyware Trojan PeaComm

PeaComm is a trojan program that spreads as email attachments. It also sends emails containing links to web sites that entice users to download free game which installs malicious programs once run. PeaComm is installed as driver service and opens peer-to-peer connections to other compromised computer and downloads other malicious program from its controlling server.

How to Remove PeaComm ?

Follow these removal steps to manually remove this spyware from your computer:

1. Disable Windows System Restore if it is enabled.
2. Reboot the computer to safe mode (click F8 when Windows start).
   
3. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit' to open the Registry Editor.
   
4. Navigate to and delete the following registry key
   

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wincom32

5. Exit Registry Editor.
   
6. Search for and delete the following files ( normally they reside in the folder of "C:\Windows\System32" ) :
   wincom32.sys, peers.ini, wincom32.ini
7. Reboot the computer.
