InstallProvider
InstallProvider is a bogus download manager that displays popups and banners advertising rogue antispyware programs. It also adds a toolbar to your IE to provides search feature. InstallProvider seems to be a variant of WinFixer/WinAntivirus.
How to Remove
InstallProvider
?
Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.
Follow these steps to manually remove InstallProvider adware:
- Reboot the computer to safe mode ( Press F8 key when windows start ).
- Go to Start > Run, type '%temp%', delete all the temporary files in the open folder.
- Open a Dos command window (go to Start > Run, type 'cmd' (for Windows XP/2000) or 'command' (for Windows 98/Me) and click OK). Enter the following commands:
cd "%programfiles%\Install Provider"
regsvr32 /u InstallProvider.dll
del *.*
- Delete the folder 'Install Provider' from 'Program Files' folder.
- Click Start > Run, type 'regedit', and click Ok to open the Registry editor.
- Search for and delete all the entries containing the following values:
{A9344DE7-59F2-40F8-9AE7-C203B67444DA}
{BBA0C39A-46D8-436D-BF53-6FB84997BC6E}
{F93C5BFF-16F9-4DC5-B78C-EC46F896EE56}
- Navigate to and delete the following keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Install Provider
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DownloadManager
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Install Provider
- Exit Registry Editor.
- Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click Internet Options, click the Programs tab, click the Reset Web Settings button to reset your Internet Explorer settings.
- Reboot the computer.
