About Adware Fastwebfinder

Fastwebfinder is a browser hijacker that resets your browser homepage to point to some undesired web site. It also redirects search queries and generates popup advertisements.

How to Remove Fastwebfinder ?

Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.

Follow these removal steps to remove this spyware from your computer:

1. Reboot the computer to Safe Mode (Press F8 when Windows starts).
   
2. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit' to open the Registry Editor.
   
3. Navigate to the following registry key:
   
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run
   
   In the right pane, find the entry with the value " Ld " that points to the file "%WinDir% \ld.exe".
   
4. Exit Registry Editor.
   
5. Open a Dos command prompt (from Start > Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt). Enter the following command:
   
   For Windows 98/Me,
   
   cd %WinDir%\system
   regsvr32 /u dnse.dll
   del dnse.dll
   
   Or for Windows XP00\NT
   
   cd %WinDir%\system32
   regsvr32 /u dnse.dll
   del dnse.dll
   
6. Delete the file Ld.exe from Windows direcotry.
7. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options, select the Programs tab and then click on the "Reset Web Settings" to reset your Internet Explorer settings.
8. Reboot the computer.
