About Adware CriticalUpdater

CriticalUpdater is a browser hijacker program. This hijacker automatically runs when Windows starts up, and changes your Internet Explorer settings to redirect browser home page and searches to its controlling server.

How to Remove CriticalUpdater ?

Follow these removal steps to remove this spyware from your computer:

1. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit' to open the Registry Editor.
2. Navigate to the following registry key:
   
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run
   
   In the right pane, find and delete the entry named ' CriticalUpdater' , which points to the file " CriticalUpdater.exe " .
   
3. Close the registry editor.
   
4. Reboot the computer.
5. Go to Start > Run, type %WinDir%\System32 to open the system directory in Windows Explorer. Find the file CriticalUpdater.exe and delete it.
   
6. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options, select the Programs tab and then click on the "Reset Web Settings" to reset your Internet Explorer settings.
