CoolWebSearch.iefeatsl a browser hijacker that is implemented as Internet Explorer Browser Helper Object. The spyware redirects browser serach reuests to its controlling server www.search-aid.com. It may also reset your browser homepage to 'res://mshp.dll/index.html'. The program is a variant of browser hijacker CoolWebSearch.

Follow these removal steps to remove this spyware from your computer:

1. Close all open browser Windows.
   
2. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit', and click Ok to open the Registry eidtor.
   
3. Navigate to and delete the following registry keys :
   

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Classes \ CLSID \ {587DBF2D-9145-4c9e-92C2-1F953DA73773}
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Classes \ CLSID \ {FD9BC004-8331-4457-B830-4759FF704C22}
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Browser Helper Objects \ {587DBF2D-9145-4c9e-92C2-1F953DA73773}
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Browser Helper Objects \ {FD9BC004-8331-4457-B830-4759FF704C22}

4. Reboot the computer.
   
5. Delete the following directories.

   %WinDir%\APPLICATION DATA\IEFEATSL\
   C:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%\Application Data\iefeatsl\

   Note: %WinDir% is a variable. By default, this is C:\Windows in Windows XP or C:\Winnt in Windows 2000.
   %UserName% is a variable. This is set to your username.

6. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double click Internet Options , select Programs tab, then click on Reset Web Settings button, click Ok on the opened dialog.
