Alfa Search is a spyware that hijacks your browser settings so that your browser home page and search requests are redirected to www.alpa-search.com. AlfaSearch is a variant of the browser hijaker CoolWebSearch.

How to Remove CoolWebSearch Alfa Search ?

Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.

Follow these removal steps to manually remove this adware from your computer:

1. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit' to open the Registry Editor.
   
2. Navigate to the following registry key:
   
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run
   
   In the right pane, delete the value named 'Windows Security Assistant' , if it exists.
   
3. Repeat finding and deleting the 'Windows Security Assistant' entry in the following registry keys:
   'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ RunServices'
   'HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run'
   
4. Exit Registry Editor.
   
5. Open Windows Explorer, find and delete the following files from Windows system directory(by default, the system directory is C:\Windows\System on Windows 98 or C:\Winnt\System32 on Windows 2000/NT or C:\Windows\System32 on Windows XP).
   
   rundll32.vbe
   readme.txt
   
6. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options, select the Programs tab and then click on the "Reset Web Settings" to reset your Internet Explorer settings.
