ActiveSearch is an adware implemented as Internet Explorer Bbrowser Helper Object (BHO). The adware may track a user's surfing habbit and search keywords and displays pop-up advertisements.

Follow these removal steps to remove this adware from your computer:
- Close all open Internet Explorer windows.
- Open a Dos command prompt window (from Start > Programs > Accessories ), enter the following command:
cd %programfiles%1ferret
regsvr32 /u toolbar.dll
- Click Start > Run, type 'regedit', and click Ok to open the Registry eidtor.
- Navigate to and delete the following registry keys (if exist):
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\{12f02779-6d88-4958-8ad3-83c12d86adc7}
- Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\internet explorer\toolbar\
In the right pane, delete the name ' {12f02779-6d88-4958-8ad3-83c12d86adc7}'.
- Reboot the computer.
- Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options, select the Programs tab and then click on the "Reset Web Settings" to reset your Internet Explorer settings.
- Open the %programfiles% directory ( normally this variable is expanded as 'C:\Program Files' ) , find and delete the folder '411ferret' and all the content within it.
