About Adware ABX Toolbar

ABX Toolbar is a browser hijacker implemented as Internet Explorer Browser Helper Object. This adware changes your browser home pages and search settings to point to its controlling server ( http://www. abx4. com ) and generate a large number of Internet Explorer pop-ups.

How to Remove ABX Toolbar ?

Remove this spyware using Spyware Doctor.

Follow these removal steps to remove this adware from your computer:

1. Close all open Internet Explorer windows.
2. Open a Dos command prompt window (from Start > Programs > Accessories ), enter the following command:
   
   For Windows2000/NT/XP,
   
   regsvr32 /u %WinDir%\System32\ABX_Search.dll
   
   Or for Windows 98/Me,
   regsvr32 /u %WinDir%\System\ABX_Search.dll
   
3. Click Start > Run, type 'regedit', and click Ok to open the Registry eidtor. Navigate to and delete the following registry keys (if exist):
   
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{00CEAF8F-BF59-429b-A1D9-91C88CCFE94B}
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{544F12D3-0B83-4DDB-B73A-53E1B4BBA4AF}
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{17BBFF9A-5D7B-4A5B-8265-15B4B86BE90F}
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{1E5C9FAE-43B0-47C3-BA51-BA5A08E44322}
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib\{483D2273-2C22-4053-94CA-6A99B2778BF2}
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\ToolBand.XBTB01186

4. Reboot the computer.
   
5. Delete the following files:
   
   %windir%\system32\ABX_Search.dll
   Or
   %windir%\system\ABX_Search.dll
   
6. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options, select the Programs tab and then click on the "Reset Web Settings" to reset your Internet Explorer settings.
