vmount2.exe is the VMware Virtual Mount Manager Extended service process installed with VMware products. It is located at "%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\VMware\VMware Virtual Image Editing". This is a background service process. You can disable it from Control Panel -> Services. You can also type "vmount2 /unregserver" at a command prompt to remove this service if you no longer need it running. It is not required to start this process if you don't use VMWare very often. However, if you disable this process from automatically starting up, you have to manually start it when you want to use VMWare workstation. |
