| Sidebar.exe is the main executable of Windows Sidebar that comes with Windows Vista.
The Sidebar contains shortcuts to applications such as Windows Media Player or Gadgets which may be used to display information such as the system time and Internet-powered features such as RSS feeds. You can download and add Gadgets online from Windows Sidebar Gallery.
The file sidebar.exe is located at "C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\".
If you find Windows Sidebar useless, you can easily disable it. To do so:
- Right click on the sidebar or sidebar icon, and choose properties.
- Uncheck the "Start Sidebar when Windows starts" checkbox.
- Click OK.
