dwm.exe is a system process named Desktop Window Manager in Windows Vista. It is responsible for the graphical effects named Aero(such as 3D or glass effects). The file is located at "%WinDir%\system32". Disabling this process will turn off aero effects. This process take up lots of resources, but shoud be left running if you have a lot of memory and want to keep the great 3D looks of your Vista. |
