avgcsrvx.exe is associated with AVG Anti-Virus software. This process is part of Resident Shield component of AVG. The Resident Shield component prodives real-time monitoring and protection and alerts you when it detects any virus or spyware infections. The file is normally located in the folder of %ProgramFiles%\AVG\AVG8. (%ProgramFiles% is a variable, by default it stands for C:\Propgram Files or C:\Propgram Files(x86), it may also be program files folder in other drive such as D:\Program Fiels).
This process can be disabled by disabling Resident Shield option. To disable Resident Shield, go to Tools -> Advanced settings -> Resident Shield tree menu, and uncheck Enable Resident Shield option. Normally it is not recommended to disable Resident Shield if AVG antivirus software works properly on your system. |
